News - The Lightworks Announced as Pando UK Distributor Archive

Tuesday, May 15th 2012

Cutting edge Spanish cooker hood and extractor brand Pando has appointed Doncaster-based The Lightworks as its exclusive UK distributor.

Although long established in Spain and boasting state-of-the-art showrooms in Madrid and Barcelona, Pando is now fast gaining a reputation away from home for its ability to combine original, head-turning aesthetics with superior, reliable functionality.  The hoods wowed visitors at the recent KBB exhibition in Birmingham, whilst current I-1300, I-760 and I-470 designs are just a taster of what this exciting new brand has to offer UK kitchen retailers.

Roy Hughes, partner at The Lightworks says,

“We are delighted to be distributing Pando in the UK.  Extractor design has undergone something of a revolution over the last decade and whilst it might still be a new name in the UK, in Europe, Pando and its parent company Inoxpan, have been at the forefront of pioneering new and exciting cooker hood design, manufacturing and decorative techniques.

Roycontinues,

“Today’s kitchen designers want extractors and hoods that make a design statement in their own right; that are striking and stylish enough to be a focal point in a kitchen that is as likely to be a family’s number one area for entertaining and relaxing as it is for simply preparing and cooking food.  Pando extractors more than meet those expectations and we are very excited to be representing them in the UK.”

More about Pando

Pando has been designing and manufacturing cooker hoods for over 30 years.  A renowned brand in its Spanish homeland, the company is based near Barcelona.  Over the years, Pando has

pioneered the use of many new materials and decorative techniques – but has never compromised upon the superior functionality and reliability of its hoods.

Pando’s own in-house R&D team develop hoods from start to finish, whilst a rigorous quality and approvals team ensure that Pando extractors always comply with the demanding criteria of European approvals and standards – all Pando cooker hoods are AENOR approved.

Pando technology is second-to-none.  Standard features include activated carbon filter systems, low-energy lighting, ‘last time’ functionality and Pando’s SEC (‘silent easy clean’) system and the option of remote activation.  Motors, meanwhile, are available in a range of sizes depending upon whether they are internally, externally or roof-mounted.

When it comes to aesthetics and especially finishing, many believe that Pando sets the benchmark.  Textured stainless steel, RAL coloured glass, vinyl finished hoods, specialist enamel finishes and most impressively the scope for designers to work with Pando’s design team to create

bespoke and tailored hoods mean that Pando is able to meet and exceed virtually all extractor requirements.

The stunning Colourlife range of hoods uses the most vibrant and bold of shades; Pando has perfected its silk-screening techniques to enable the use of original art to decorate extractors, whilst the ‘I’ series of island hoods with their wide bands of wraparound, latticed stainless steel are nothing less than structural marvels.   And finally, for those of a nautical persuasion, there is Pando’s specialist marine division, which designs and create hoods just for those who prefer life on the ocean wave.
