News - Sub Zero- introduce Cooktops available from Wolf Archive

Wednesday, November 14th 2012

Wolf, the leading manufacturer of premium cooking appliances, now offers induction cooktops for the at home cook. Available in 38, 76 and 91cm, the cooktops feature cookware-sensing technology and instant temperature adjustments, providing the very best in energy efficient cooking whilst ensuring every meal is cooked to perfection. Wolf also offers a choice of finishes including an unframed version, which installs flush with your work surface, or a classic framed model with stainless steel trim ensuring their induction hobs not only perform but also make a sleek design statement, perfect for any modern or minimalist kitchen.

Ergonomic and economical, Wolf’s induction cooktops have been designed to offer functionality, performance and pinpoint control. As temperature and heat adjustments are instant, cooking times are 50% faster than traditional electric and gas hobs. Sauces and chocolate can be simmered or melted using just 50 watts of power, whilst the Hi-Power feature enables water to be boiled in half the normal time, all provided with an even heat distribution to ensure there are no burn spots. Wolf’s cookware-sensing technology works across all elements of the cooktop. Heat generation automatically stops if you turn off the element, if no induction-compatible pan is detected or if there is no liquid detected within your pan, giving you ultimate cooking control and safety. A countdown timer ensures precision timing whilst the electronic controls offer more than 10 levels of power, providing accurate cooking temperatures for every culinary creation. The cooktop surface remains cool throughout use which means your kitchen stays cooler too. Craig Davies, President and CEO for Sub-Zero and Wolf Europe comments; “The demand for energy-conscious appliances continues to increase and consumers are starting to move towards induction hobs as the more economical choice. Wolf’s induction hobs use magnetic technology beneath the ceramic cooktop to transfer heat directly into the base of the pan, not to the whole cooktop which remains cool to the touch when cooking. Using this technology means that around 90% of the heat generated is used to cook, reducing energy waste and giving you a greater level of control when cooking”.
