News - Smeg launches new unique style 50 Archive

Smeg has teamed up with famous Italian designer, Lapo Elkann, owner of Italia Independent, to create the world’s first fridge covered entirely in denim.  Italia Independent is a creative and stylish young fashion brand, working across various sectors from clothing and home décor to sunglasses and cars.

Smeg’s FAB28 range is hugely popular the world over and its unique 50’s retro style curves already makes it stand out from the crowd.  Working with Italia Independent, Smeg has reinvented the traditional 50’s icon to bring something entirely different to the range.  Is it art for art’s sake?  No.  It’s creativity for the home.

Denim has always been part of our daily lives.  Functional and yet decorative.  The FAB28 Denim combines tradition and innovation.  The denim casing is treated with a special Plasma process named Planti-Five®   which protects it from liquid splashes such as water, milk or oil and avoids fading and scuffing.

This unique fridge has a black soft touch handle and features a new and exclusive Smeg logo design to underline its Italian heritage.

The FAB28 Denim enjoyed its world premiére at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in the middle of April and will be making its UK debut on the Smeg stand at Grand Designs Live at Excel, London from 5 – 13 May 2012.

The FAB28 Denim is a limited edition model with only 500 units being produced.
