News - EQ Backs BMA Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme Archive

Tuesday, September 27th 2011

The Water Efficiency Product labelling scheme (WEPLS) operated by the BMA has received a further endorsement from EQ Software. The UK’s leading business management software provider will incorporate water efficient products registered on WEPLS into the system, for specification and order by retailers. At the recent Bathroom Manufacturers association AGM, Neil Schofield, Marketing Manager at EQ outlined the company’s commitment to the green agenda in a presentation to members.

Ben Pursglove, Director and responsible for data management at EQ Software remarks “The demand for green products is coming from a variety of sources and for a number of product groups. Retailers at the sharp end need the ability to calculate cost savings to consumers when specifying energy efficient products.  While this clearly is evident with appliances, the same principles can be applied to bathroom products. The ‘Source Green’ function we created within EQ Software can give retailers instant access to the very latest information on such products, whichcan be key motivators to successful sales at retail level”

EQ are encouraging the BMA members to actively participate in promoting the green agenda for bathrooms to a wider audience. The company plan to incorporate WEPLS registered products with access to water calculation into the software throughout 2011.
